Bernese foundation for cancer suffering children and adolescents
Cancer can tear apart families and be very wearing for the loved ones, especially when it is concerning children. The bernese foundation for cancer suffering children and adolescents supports the concerned and their families in all parts of the life – in hospitals, at home, in school and in everyday life. The foundation supports the families in all the stages of the illness, starting from the diagnosis till long term care. Furthermore, the foundation helps with financing research projects and thus allows to increase the healing chances of the treated persons. The subsidized projects target to improve the quality of the life of the children and their families and also help to psychologically support the relatives.
mimacom thanks the bernese foundation for cancer suffering children and adolescents for their valuable work and supports the organization with CHF 5’000.00.
Accidents and diseases affecting children demand a different treatment compared to adults. Children and adolescents react differently to medications and the diseases progress in another way. Furthermore, these medical therapies are often not cost covering. To counter these financial difficulties, the fundraising organization batzebär has been founded by the pediatric clinics of the universities and the emergency center for children of the university Bern five years ago.
mimacom decided to support this impressive project in order to make the suffering of the children at least a bit more endurable. Therefore, this year’s Christmas donation in the amount of 5’000 Swiss francs goes to batzebär.

The non-profit organization (NPO) "Building a Future" is serving the disadvantaged and vulnerable children and youth in Barkly West, South Africa. For the last 18 years this work has been based on the principle of "helping people help themselves". the organisation has the following three legs for service delivery to children and young people:
- Action Team: Children (6-12 years)
- Rising Stars: Teens and Youth (12-35 years)
- Mzansi Youth Center: Extension of the project in the form of a youth center
The work involves various activities, projects and workshops that serve as tools for education, health, furthering skills and personal growth.
